Welcome back to Calypso Island! :D It's time to properly meet Terri Knight. Terri is a fortune sim, who hopes she'll be able to turn her writing into something that'll pay the bills.
But for now writing will have to wait. There is no electricity on the island and Terri used up her laptop's battery on the way over. So she keeps it in it's box, passing the days until she can charge it again.
But combing the shore for seashells can get a bit boring after a day or so.
Terri decides to invite Lily over and discuss electricity.
"So you see, it's pretty annoying. All this free time and I can't even email the publisher. Do you know when the power will come on?"
"Kevin said he's working on it. Everything should be up and running by next Monday."
"Oh, that's great! Speaking of Kevin..."
" I don't want to talk about it!"
" Geez, fine."
They spend the rest of the day making a list of the things that had to be done."
"You know Lil, you might want to give priority to law enforcement."
"What? Why? There's only 7 of us here?"
"Didn't you hear? The Morgans had a burglary."
"What? Is Kevin - I mean are they okay?"
"Yeah, they're fine. Lost half their inventory though, according to Jake."
"Oh that's just awful."
After that, Lily went home to work some more.
Terri got started on dinner when the phone ran.
"She was here, yes."
"None of your business."
"No it's not."
"What do you mean, did she ask about you? Why don't you ask her?"
"No I won't. You can tell her that yourself."
"You know what? Why don't you come over? I have spaghetti... Good. See you soon!"
And so he did.
"Hey Kevin. How are you holding up?"
"I see you still wear the ring..."
"Oh Terri, I don't know. One minute I'm really angry and the next minute I find myself holding the phone already half-dialing her number. I don't know what to do."
"Just make up with her already. Call her, tell her you miss her and ask her to apologize. I'm sure she's really sorry, deep down inside."
"But what if she's not?"
"Tell you what, I'm giving you guys until Saturday to sort this out. And then I'm stepping in."
"What will you do?"
"Nope, I won't tell you yet. You'll see."
Without power, or anything else to do really, Terri spend her days relaxing.
She bought an easel to pass the time.
With not much to do besides painting, Terri was glad when Saturday rolled around. She invited Lily over for - yet another - spaghetti dinner.
And while Lily sat down for dinner, Terri set the wheels of her plan in motion.
"Oh Lily, guess who I ran into outside?"
"I'm... gonna take off."
"Oh don't be ridiculous! If you guys want some privacy, you can talk in my bedroom."
"Yeah, they're in there right now!"
"No Remi, I don't know what they're doing. Who knows?"
"Maybe they're having a huge argument, with lots of feelings and stuff."
"And then Kevin will have had enough and leaves. But he takes one look back and sees the love of his life, crying her heart out."
"And by then he realizes that he truly loves her and can't bear to see her in this much pain. And that there will be a way to get past it."
"Yeah, she'll have to sob over how sorry she is, of course!"
" And then they'll make up. Damn... do you think I should change the sheets after they leave?"
"What? No, I don't know if that's what happening, silly! The door is closed!"
"I'll let you know."
Terri never did find out what happened. They both left shorty after Terri hung up. Terri lingered at the door, but they just said goodbye and walked away in different directions.
On Sunday, Terri felt a sudden boost in enthusiasm when she was painting. She also thought she heard someone next to her talking about a hobby plaque, but she wrote that off as heatstroke.
